The North Adams Transcript had a nice writeup about BuyWeird.com in this article by By John Mitchell titled Megabits and Pieces. He writes: "Leave it to eBay to blow all other weird sales away. Weird auctions are tracked on BuyWeird ( www.buyweird.com and I'm just amazed that anyone has the time for this sort of stuff, but right there on the front page is a guy selling a weird looking peanut that is fetching less than a dollar."

We hadn't posted an update here for a while even if many changes had taken place. It may be because we're too busy with improving the site, we forgot to update this page? Argh!!! First, we have redesigned the site to fit the 800x600 screen resolution which a big number of visitors are still using, especially those on laptops. We have also streamlined the frontpage, removing some unnecessary clutter, for better page viewing. Isnt' that great? New videos, flash animatin and funny pictures were also added. And hey, check out these pages: Golden Palace Buys Weird and Our Friends page. Lots of updates there too.

Finally, we have changed the way we feature items. Our main feature is now always a news story, and the rest are all auctions. We feature 10 items a day, and the previous features can easily be accessed in an list below the main features. Some featured categories were also added. BuyWeird.com is growing in size and readership. And did we say we have also launched a new website? BabeAuctions.com. Check it out!

BuyWeird.com just got a nice review from Canada.com. Mark Stachiew, Content Producer for the Montreal section of canada.com in his blog Technology Web Junkie in Canada.com says BuyWeird.com has "a certain tabloid quality that makes it stand out from the competition."

A rating system has been added to Jokes and Video. Up next is upgrading of our Funny Pictures section. We will also be putting up a Flash Games and Flash Animation (weird of course) section. So stay tuned.

BuyWeird.com is now 15 days old. Wooooot!!!

A lot of great features have been added. On of the most notable is the Rating System for featured auctions. You can now rate the auctions on a scale of 1 to 10. The rating is computed by dividing the total score over the total number of votes, which gives us the average rating.

Due to the increasing popularity of the site, more and more blogs are mentioning us, and you can see who they are in Our Friends page. We have also a couple of detractors visiting our Guestbook and Comments and posting hate messages. It seems they can't accept the fact that BuyWeird.com is doing a good job. But we have more supporters who continue to pay us return visits and inform us of interesting auctions.

BuyWeird.com is now accepting Members. We have created a Members Area where we give out free downloads and free image hosting. The Forum has also been opened, but it seems people are too shy to post as yet.

A major change in layout of the Auction WatchList was implemented. Instead of the usual blogging format (where entries are listed in a single column), a two-column block-style layout was introduced. This reduces the need for scrolling down and our readers are able to view our content in less space.

There was a noted spike in traffic due to more blogs and websites mentioning us and linking to us. Thanks! We have linked back to them in Our Friends page.

The Forum script is 80 percent finished. The Membership Database and Log-in system has been tested. This will enable us to accept memberships and create our own community of "weird lovers." (sorry for the lack of a better term). :)

Our Feedback/Guestbook and Comments sections are starting to get some life, partly thanks to some flamers. But negative or positive, we accept and post all comments.

The number of returning visitors to the site has been steadily rising, an indication that we're starting to have a following. Thanks for the return visits. We always strive to make BuyWeird.com better everyday.

If you haven't noticed, a Free Games section had been added. These are just some javascript games to relieve your stress. We're scouting for more games to add.

PHPPrince.com is also halfway in the coding of our custom Forum script. A members database has been set up and this will allow us to have a log-in for the forum and some cool member features.

If you have seen the difference, we have made our headlines bigger and bolder.

Buyweird.com just keeps on getting bigger and better. Added today were these sections:

The Our Friends page was expanded to include sites which have linked to us and visitors who have contributed auctions they found or they are running on eBay.

Coding of the PHP-powered news-posting content management system has been finished. Next to be coded is the topics section, both for articles and the message board.

A live chat application is being beta-tested.
